Message	Assuming you left oil in the gearbox while it was stored. I would tip the box up the opposite way and get the oil to run out the tailshaft end of the gearbox, to flush any dust etc that may have gotten in the uncovered end. I would then install the box, fill with gearbox oil and run it for a day. Then drain and refill with fresh oil.
